Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has called on Eden Hazard to prove his talent as the greatest players of his generation about the eve on the Blues' UEFA Champions League Group G opener with Schalke.

The Portuguese boss expects the Belgian playmaker, signed from Lille in 2012, to agree a different contract despite having 36 months running on his existing deal, in exchange for his ever-increasing influence at Stamford Bridge. Mourinho was occasionally critical of Hazard last season, perhaps while he felt the forward was effective at a lot more.

''His talent allows him to take into account going from the top player being one of the greats of his generation,'' said Mourinho. ''We're very proud that they thinks Chelsea is the perfect environment for him to possess that evolution. 'That is why he wants to commit to us and now we wish to spend on him money for hard times too. It's going to be an issue of energy, but it can certainly once you get your contract.''

If Hazard's individual aspirations are lofty, so too are Mourinho's, while using possibility he could get to be the first manager to lift the ecu Cup with three clubs.

He denied the pursuit for follow his 2004 win with Porto and 2010 success with Inter Milan is an ''obsession''.

''To win with three clubs is unique,'' Mourinho said. ''But it is not even close to being an obsession and it's really not something that I believe in regards to a lot. 'Even if I don't do it, the quantity of top managers on the planet have one or maybe not really a single one?

The most in this country (Sir Alex Ferguson), he won it twice. Must i would like to try to win it again? Obviously. But also in this moment I only think about 'don't play Europa League'. 'We've a championship of six matches and three opponents (in Group G) so we want to do everything to qualify.''
